Create/Edit a Homework Assignment or Quiz

 

 

Create a Homework Assignment or Quiz

  1. Go to the Course page and click the Turn Editing On button.

  2. Under the desired topic you created, click Add Assignment/Quiz or Resource. In the window that opens select the option Physics Assignment/Quiz and then click the Add button.

  3. The Settings: Physics Assignment/Quiz page opens allowing you to customize exactly how the assignment or quiz behaves. After setting options on this page click the Save and continue button. (Note: Detailed information explaining each setting can be accessed by clicking its help icon.)

  4. Click the View/Add Physics Problems button to open the View/Add Physics Problems page.

  5. Click Access Physics LE Question Bank, then from the drop-down menu click +Open Question Bank. Select the desired physics topic (chapter) within the question bank. Place a check mark in the box next to the chosen problems and then click the Add selected problems button at the bottom of the question bank window.

 

Edit Point Values for a Homework Assignment or Quiz

  1. Go to the Course page and click on the assignment or quiz you wish to edit the point values.

  2. Click on the gear menu in the upper right corner and select View/Add Physics Problems.

  3. INDIVIDUAL PROBLEM POINT VALUES: On the View/Add Physics Problems page, the point values assigned to individual problems can be edited by clicking the pencil icon appearing next to the problem. After entering a new point value press the Enter key on your keyboard.

  4. ASSIGNMENT/QUIZ TOTAL POINTS: On the View/Add Physics Problems page, enter the desired value in the Scaled total points field and then click the Save button. This value will be used in the gradebook as the total possible points for the assignment or quiz. This can be used to achieve a desired total point value regardless of the Actual total points. If you don't wish to scale the total points, simply enter the value shown for Actual total points.

Note: If you wish to have an assignment or quiz not appear in the gradebook, set the Scaled total points value to zero. The assignment or quiz can be made to reappear in the gradebook by changing this setting to a nonzero value.

 

Preview How Students Experience a Homework Assignment or Quiz

  1. Go to the Course page and click on the assignment or quiz you wish to preview.

  2. Click the Attempt Assignment/Quiz now button, or alternatively click on the gear menu in the upper right corner and select Preview.

  3. The problems will appear and behave exactly as experienced by students. The Navigation pane on the right side of the page can be used to access any selected problem.

 

Add or Remove Problems from a Homework Assignment or Quiz

  1. Go to the Course page and click on the assignment or quiz you wish to edit.

  2. Click on the gear menu in the upper right corner and select View/Add Physics Problems.

  3. REMOVE PROBLEM: On the View/Add Physics Problems page, click the trash icon next to the problem you wish to remove from the assignment or quiz.

  4. ADD PROBLEM: On the View/Add Physics Problems page, click the Access Physics LE Question Bank link that is positioned at the desired insert location to open the question bank and add a new problem.

 

Edit Homework Assignment or Quiz Settings

  1. Go to the Course page and click on the assignment or quiz you wish to edit.

  2. Click on the gear menu in the upper right corner and select Edit settings.

  3. On the Settings: Physics Assignment/Quiz page, edit the settings you wish to change.

  4. When finished click the Save and return to Course page button at the bottom of the page.
